Ard Aibhinn Community Initiatives is the directorship body which oversees the proper management of Raheen Wood Steiner Secondary School/ALFA. Originally established by the seven founding committee members of ALFA, Ard Aibhinn Community Initiatives expanded its reach to include other groups in the community working in innovative ways for the social good of the region.
Currently, Ard Aoibhinn supports three other projects under its umbrella, Fishbowl Youth Club, CLAI – Camphill Community Mountshannon. Each group is represented by Directors on the board of Ard Aoibhinn.
Over the past decade the Governance of Alfa has evolved into its present day form. The ALFA community of teachers, parents and friends have set up Alfa so that structures of governance reflect the ethos of ALFA and all decisions made have the education of the students to the fore.
The Management Group
The RWSSS/ALFA management group meets monthly and is made up of staff, parents and volunteers. The management group oversees the effective running of ALFA. The Management Group nominates a director to the board of Ard Aibhinn; this person then stands for election at the AGM in accordance to the Articles of Association.
