pedagogy and research
To support young people in their quest to understand the world.
To deepen their experience of their own humanity.
To encourage enlightened thinking – providing them with the tools and the environment to develop their capacity to think creatively and critically.
To foster warmth towards others that allows the emergence of empathy and the ability to act in a conscientious and generous manner in the world.
To develop strength of will – so they can put their ideas into action & take initiative.
To give young people confidence in their own abilities.
To engender a love for learning and a love for living.
We offer active, experiential-based learning in a wide variety of subjects: maths, languages, science, craft, arts, including film making and theatre, and technology. Our students make books, create portfolios and projects, and are assessed both internally and externally in the most up to date modes of learning and evaluation.
Embracing the World
Our student body includes visiting international students who are welcomed into the community and a staff that includes Irish, Scottish, French and American nationalities.
Navigating the World
Our alumni find direction and their own compass. Graduates have gone on to university, institutes of technology, art and drama school, outdoor education professions and started their own businesses and enterprises.
